AntimaidanOppositional movement against to the Euromaidan movement – The movement of Antimaidan is functioning for now being a basis for pro-Russian protests) [1]. It is a movement of Ukrainian citizens who never supported eurointegration. After military turmoil in Kyiv and opposition took forcefully power the Antimaydan showed agai it's disagreement to the Kyiv's junta. Activists of antimaydan do not support ruining their monuments in the East of Ukraine by pro-european activists of maidan (Euromaidan, Right Sector , etc), uniting churches(eastern and western parts have different churches), prohibition of using Russian language in official papers (up to 1991 Russian has been one of the official language of Ukraine, and since 2012 it become a regional language for 8 regions, but it's usage as official was canceled by junta), turning off all the Russian broadcasting, prohibition of broadcasting of Russian and Soviet movies on any Ukrainian television channel, etc. Antimaydan became a proRussian protest. Neutrality of the article[edit]

This article makes it sound as if all anti-maidan protesters were bribed. The lead section is very POV and is extensively biased towards one side. It is also based on weak and unreliable opinions that shouldn't make it into an article's introduction. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 07:50, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

By reading this article, I understand that I'm suposedly being paid by the Russian government... Yeah right, this article is so biased, and it only uses Western propaganda media as sources! Even youtube videos! --181.160.240.39 (talk) 21:43, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Evallena (talk) 00:44, 13 May 2014 (UTC)I agree. The article is not neutral.[reply]

AntimaidanOpposition to the Euromaidan movement – The usage of the term "Antimaidan" is quite uncommon, and there's nothing pointing to it being an established or official term for this topic. Therefore, the article should be moved to something more descriptive. --Relisted. Andrewa (talk) 07:50, 4 May 2014 (UTC) Anonimski (talk) 22:58, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Relisting comment: One (only) of the three sources quoted in the article as using the term is in English, [2] but there is one. Relisting to see whether we can get better evidence, and also to see whether we can perhaps come up with a better name than proposed, even if a move is warranted. Perhaps just Opposition to the Euromaidan? That would better match the Euromaiden article title, too. Andrewa (talk) 07:49, 4 May 2014 (UTC)**[reply]
Hmm, maybe it would even be better to strike "the", and just select Opposition to Euromaidan. - Anonimski (talk) 07:59, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I disagree. Everywhere I read the news I see usage of "Antimaidan." Are you looking into English-language sources? Then of course there is little usage of this term. But every source from Ukraine refers to it as Antimaidan. § DDima 17:33, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - 'Anti-Maidan' is a specific wave of protests, whereas 'opposition to the Euromaidan' is much broader. I personally would like to see the present name converted to standard English form, that is 'Anti-Maidan'. However, there is no way the proposed title is any good. AntimaidanAnti-Maidan – To comply with MOS:HYPHEN, the title should be "Anti-Maidan", as is standard in compound phrases using the prefix "anti". --Relisted. Armbrust The Homunculus 11:16, 1 July 2014 (UTC) RGloucester 18:36, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Steel1943 (talk) 19:27, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not true at all. Even the website of the Anti-Maidan protesters uses a hyphen.[3] This is merely a matter of orthography. MOS:HYPHEN demands a hyphen. RGloucester 18:58, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
True. Linked fan-site, there are no official sites. Many media sources don't use a hyphen. Use WP:RM for discussion. Don't try to move without consensus. NickSt (talk) 19:10, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Consensus is found in the community agreed-upon style guide that we have, the Manual of Style. MOS:HYPHEN is consensus-based. It says that there should be a hyphen, and so, there should be a hyphen. Not to mention of course, that we are allowed to be WP:BOLD, as Wikipedia is not a bureaucracy. This wasn't even a bold move, though, because all it did was fix the orthography to MOS guidelines. RGloucester 19:17, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thin is not about grammar fix. No rules for word-neologism. This is about unconsensus moving without WP:RM discussion. NickSt (talk) 19:24, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't even understand what you are saying. "Anti-Maidan" is no different than "anti-American" or "anti-Russian". One is "anti" something, that is, opposed. It is a compound phrase that always takes a hyphen in English, as the MoS rightly states. RGloucester 19:28, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm weary of Google hit counts, but since standard English orthography and the MoS don't convince you, let me give you more junk. There are 3,080,000 results for "Anti-Maidan"[4], and only 237,000 results for "Antimaidan".[5] Media sources in English consistently use "Anti-Maidan", as they should do:
This is only a small helping. "Antimaidan" is poor English, pure and simple. The MoS demands a hyphen, and so does common usage. RGloucester 19:37, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Per MOS:HYPHEN. Not only is the current title a poor use of English, RGloucester's evidence shows that "Anti-Maidan" is used by English language media. IJA (talk) 18:45, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

name Cyrillic?[edit]

The event takes place in Ukraine. Why only Russian in the name Cyrillic? It is necessary to write that in the Ukrainian and Russian language - Антимайдан--Bohdan Bondar (talk) 12:15, 10 August 2018 (UTC)--Bohdan Bondar (talk) 12:15, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
