Stage Fright[edit]

I added "claims" to the part about him having "stage fright", because many believe Mr. Partridge used this as an excuse to spend his time doing what he liked more: producing, recording and writing. He is known to be stubborn, and often talks about how much he dislikes the concept of playing the same song over and over, dislikes the stress of the road, and dislikes how labels force their bands to tour relentlessly to promote their albums. To a large xtent, all musicians feel this, and all have stage fright, but Partridge is a more defiant and strong character, and siply refused- citing the very difficult to prove "stage fright" as a reason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.123.133.47 (talk) 12:21, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He had been addicted to Valium and his wife took them away. So he had a breakdown on stage in France. After that experience he said he didn't want to tour anymore because he never liked touring. But clearly he said he needed the Valium to be able to go on stage. DavidRavenMoon (talk) 14:31, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to whoever modified the article's sections[edit]

I just wanted to thank whoever rearranged some paragraphs of this article and added new ones, and also changed the section names. I was really annoyed with how the paragraphs were before, because they weren't consistent or chronologic. Erica Wexler[edit]

We say:

Partridge met Wexler in the early 1980s; they began dating shortly after she split from artist Roy Lichtenstein in 1994.

but today's Guardian carries an interview which says:

...he began a relationship with US film heiress Erica Wexler, who herself was in a relationship with the elderly Roy Lichtenstein. “Rather unfairly,” says Partridge, “I gave her a bit of an ultimatum.” Faced with a choice between two pop-art masters, Wexler has lived in Swindon ever since.
