Plagiarism[edit]

This article sounds like an advertisement. Probably, this is because a lot of the text has been plagiarized verbatim from various short bio paragraphs about the subject online. This is unacceptable for copyright reasons, if nothing else. I will again make changes to conform to the style of other bio articles, and also return biographical information that has been inexplicably removed by Nellie2011 Swyper (talk) 03:05, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clean out the brush[edit]

There is a lot of primary sources and poorly supported material in this article. Since the article is subject to an AfD and getting a lot of attention lately, I thought I would dive in and clean out the brush. I'm going to start by moving all primary sources to external links and tag all unsupported assertions with “citation needed”. The issue is not so much is the accuracy of the material, but its notability per a reliable secondary source.--Nowa (talk) 23:42, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pulitzer Prize(s)[edit]

Keahapana made the following point on the AfD: The original ref (now ironically marked {cn}) linked to the 2002 award for the "A Nation Challenged" series. If one goes to the NYT homepage, clicks search, types "Andrew Jacobs" and "A Nation Challenged", one can see his 20 articles. Thanks again for adding the 2009 prize ref, and would you also revert the deleted 2002 info? Perhaps we should say "multiple Pulitzer Prize-winning".

Keahapana: Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a reference that links Andrew's articles to the series that won the Pulitzer in 2002. Here's a list of works attributed to the award. I didn't see any with Andrew's name on it. That's not to say he didn't write articles in the series, but we need to find a reference that finds his contributions noteworthy. (P.S. While looking for a reference related to this Pulitzer, I found another that made mention of his being an embedded reporter during the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. Who knows what we might find if we continue to search.)--Nowa (talk) 19:30, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If I was wrong – <grin> it won't be the first time – I sincerely apologize for my hasty conclusions. After I finish with another article I've been working on (probably tomorrow), I'll have time to look into it. I look forward to working together with you on improving this article. Thanks, Keahapana (talk) 23:40, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You're right that I was wrong about the 2003 Pulitzer. My bad. You've already found his one and only 2009 Pulitzer. I did come across this mistake (perhaps taken from WP) in advertisements for a Beijing lecture that Jacobs in 2014, like Facebook and City Weekend. Thanks again for correcting my error.
