Ridiculous copyvio claim

As the person who rewrote the article in order to remove blatant copyvio in the first place, how likely is it that I would replace one load of copyvio with ANOTHER load of copyvio?

Here is the evidence:

• Evidence 1 - Comparison of text between 17 April 2009 and last version before being tagged as copyvio. As you can see, the article text has not changed significantly since 17 April 2009.
• Evidence 2 - Seriously, the earliest Webarchive link of the alleged copyvio was made in 21 July 2011? That's over two years after the original text was put on Wikipedia. If anything, all this proves is that the University of Westminster lifted text from Wikipedia, not the other way round.

I argue that the copyvio accusation here is invalid and should be thrown out, because copyvio is not and cannot ever be retrospective. Mabalu (talk) 12:35, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

• Also, the original references were located at http://www.wmin.ac.uk/mad/page-519 - as the Uni of Westminster have since reconfigured their staff portal and website, it was a dead link and was subsequently replaced with the equivalent link http://www.westminster.ac.uk/schools/media/fashion/ba-fashion-design/staff in 2011 - ironically, the very page that now stands accused of being copyvio'd, even though it's obvious they thought my rewrite was better than the text they formerly had on their page. Aha!! Wikipedia:Copyright problems#Backwards. This is a case where the Backwardscopy template is called for, I think.

You may well be right; if so, I apologise. What a weird world, where a university might be thought to have copied its staff bios from Wikipedia. I also realise that I failed to put the necessary notification on the talkpage of the contributor of the material. I'm sorry about that oversight too, but since you are obviously aware of the tag, will not now remedy it. I'll ask someone to take a look at this soon, rather than waiting for weeks or months for it to be sorted by the usual process. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:20, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Apology accepted - I can see why it looked odd. Looking at the old version, OMG - this was one of the first articles I worked on. It WILL need more referencing/sourcing, so if it's saved, I will have to get onto that ASAP. Mabalu (talk) 14:27, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
