This is good stuff, especially given that not even eswiki has this article. Glad I took this one on... I think articles with heavy doses of Spanish-language sources are languishing at GA (and I've done beyond my share of Bolivian politician reviews).

    There is a fair-use photo of Amado in the infobox with valid NFCC. The image of Nicolás Casullo is PD in Argentina but not the US; it needs to be deleted from Commons (where it has to be PD in both countries) and may be acceptable fair use on enwiki for an article of him, but not here.

  • indigenous women at Instituto Latinoamericano this would read better with a "the" after "at". The ILET name does not need to be italicized.

  • The potential for the election of 1983 to result in a return to democracy in Argentina, led the couple to return home that year. Remove unnecessary comma
  • On her return, she submitted her thesis to the University of Buenos Aires but its approval was delayed until her advisor returned from exile. Add comma after "Aires". See User:Sammi Brie/Commas in sentences (CinS), particularly if you write in a more AmEng style.

Early life[edit]

  • Her father was engaged in manufacturing wooden products and her mother was a teacher. Add comma after products (CinS)
  • Her parents were both killed in an accident in 1964 and she and her brothers went to live with an aunt. Add comma after 1964 (CinS). The "both" is likely unnecessary given plural "parents".

Career[edit]

  • Amado moved to Buenos Aires after graduating in 1972, and began airing a music program, Música en libertad (Music in Freedom) on Channel 9, but quickly moved to El Trece reporting on the popular newscast Telenoche. Long sentence could be split up. The CinS issue (remove comma after 1972) should be mitigated by just splitting the sentence there.
    • "El Trece" should be labeled "Canal 13". It was not known as El Trece until much later than this.

Very cool. I didn't even own a TV until after I was 50. I have enough Spanish to survive here in Mexico, but am not fluent by any stretch of the imagination. (Better at reading than speaking and definitely hearing is the most difficult. "¡Más despacio! por favor", is probably my most-used phrase.)   • Although the project fell apart, she continued meeting with Casullo in regard to her radio program and they began dating. Comma after "program" (CinS)

  • Her documentary film, Ruidos en la cabeza (Noises in the Head) created for Productora Creativos Audiovisuales (Creative Audiovisual Productions) aired in 1976. Complete the appositive by adding a comma after the second parenthetical.

Overall: I am quite new to reviewing DYK, so I would appreciate a second review. I think this is an interesting article. However, my primary concern for DYK is the hook. While it is present in the article (and cited in the article), I am concerned that it requires people to know what the AAA is to be interesting. And, the article uses the term 'Triple A' and not 'AAA', which is also confusing. For those wondering, the group is Argentine Anticommunist Alliance. The hook presents two details that occur around the same time (she was told not to come to work; her husband was on the death list), but they are not directly related as the hook implies (or at least that's my understanding from the article). Also, at the time this happened, the two were not married so it seems odd to refer to 'her husband' at that time in her life. Is there another hook that could be suggested @Onegreatjoke: ? @Evrik: - that's a simple enough change and still under the 200 character limit. Works for me, so I have changed the above "n" to a "y".
