Bible references[edit]

Does anyone have objection to changing the Bible references from King James? The King James Bible was translated in the 17th C and since then scholars now have access to much earlier texts. It's not the version you'd expect to be used in a neutral encyclopedia and commentary on the verses as if they were modern English isn't helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Telopase (talkcontribs) 13:07, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Bible references in Wikipedia are generally selected to be as close as possible to the original Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek for the purpose of neutral analysis. King James Version is one of the versions that provides literal translation, and is used for the parts which are still relevant in light of new findings.
