Ethnicity and name in Bengali

Why did people get rid of them? I'm sure they were included in previous versions of the article. The fact that Bose's mother was a white American isn't even mentioned in the current article and his father is called "Indian" when Indian isn't an ethnicity. And also, all names on Wiki that originate from a language that isn't written in Roman script has the version of the name in its original script along with the proper pronunciation.

I'm adding all this now. AyanP (talk) 04:19, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Ayan

Considering he was born in America (according to the article), I would say there's more of a need to indicate that he actually used his name in Bengali, otherwise it's useless trivia at best and incorrect at worst. Just because someone has an "ethnic" name doesn't mean it should be presented in its "original" - see Margaret Cho as an example. There's no indication that Bose ever even knew the language in the first place, so I'm going to remove it once again pending some sort of source that indicates otherwise. MSJapan, Margaret Cho's page list her name in the info box in various formats. If you took the trouble of deleting the Bengali version, it is upon you to put in place the similar infobox too. DebashisMTalk 14:03, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Actually, it's not in the infobox, and it's not in the first line of her article. It's in a separate box undermeath it with a direct link to a source which clearly indicates that Cho has and uses that name herself. I see no such material here, and it's all about burden of proof. Having noticed some ethnicity changes in the article, the sources cited indicate that Bose identifies as Indian, and an article from the Indian Times calls his father Indian. There is no mention of Bengali whatsoever, so therefore, he wouldn't have a Bengali name in the first place. That should solve this particular problem. MSJapan (talk) 01:46, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Bose is directly a bengali name there are many notable bengalis with the name bose. E.g jagadish chandra bose, Netaji subhas bose, sayntraneth bose. So it is right to say bengali, like if tjey originate from punjab they are mentioned.
