Plagiarism/copyright violation[edit]

Correct Name[edit]

Anthony Capozzi was not the owner of the car the rapist had been driving, nor was he the uncle of Altemio Sanchez. That was a totally different and unrelated man, Wilfredo Caraballo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.28.187.109 (talk) 02:47, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading information[edit]

I removed sentences about attacks around the city of Buffalo that were erroneously attributed to Sanchez on wikipedia. Those attacks occurred after he was in custody. They were referenced in an article about Sanchez on October 1, 2007 in the Buffalo News. The direct line is "It is that same message of personal safety that Buffalo police are stressing now that a serial sex attacker remains at large. The attacker has terrorized at least six women in the city since Sept. 18. Buffalo police believe that the same man is responsible for six attacks and possibly a seventh. "We don't have a suspect in custody," Richards said shortly after the ceremony. "We've talked to a number of people who provided information, and we're continuing to follow up on all leads." The attacks involved forced sodomy, attempted sodomy or other forms of molestation, police said. Several of the women also were robbed. The attacks include two on Potomac Avenue and others at Elmwood Avenue and Hodge Street, East Delavan Avenue and Spillman Place, Richmond Avenue near Connecticut Street and the 100 block of Atlantic Avenue. Investigators are still investigating whether another attack Wednesday night on Virginia Street was committed by the same man. If so, that crime would be considered the latest by the suspect." The context of this was at a ceremony that occurred after Sanchez was in custody reminding people to still be vigilant. The first reference to this was on September 27, 2007 in the Buffalo News. The line is "The assailant is a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He has short hair and often has been reported wearing a green or gray hooded sweat shirt that is usually left open.
