Edit Summary, Locations, Mergers & Acquisitions[edit]

Full disclosure: I am an employee of Allegion, and I noticed that there is incorrect information on this page. Due to this conflict of interest, would the community be willing to make the following factual edits?

The global corporate headquarters is in Dublin, Ireland.
- The regional office for the /Americas/ are in Carmel, Indiana.
- The regional office for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa is located in /Faenza, Italy/.
- The regional office for Asia Pacific remains in Shanghai.
- It's important to note that legally, the only headquarters are in Dublin; the rest are main regional offices. You can find this contact information on the corporate website.

On April 30, 2014, Allegion also announced the acquisition of the privately-owned Fire & Security Hardware Pty Limited (FSH), an electromechanical locking provider in Australia. This gave the company a number of electric strike and latch patents.

Allegion is also not a conglomerate; all of its products are focused on the safety and security industry. One reason Allegion had spun off of Ingersoll Rand was so that it could focus on its security portfolio, as outlined on page 6 of its annual report.

As a stylistic edit, the first paragraph mentions that we have 27 brands. We've had several acquisitions and divestitures this year, and most corporate communication has moved to using "more than 25 brands," as seen in recent press releases. Inappropriate Advertising Tag[edit]

I removed the advertising tag. The text of the advertising tag states "This article appears to be written like an advertisement. Please help improve it by rewriting promotional content from a neutral point of view and removing any inappropriate external links. "

All of the information in this article appears to be entirely factual. No opinions are expressed. I was unable to find anything in the article that was not written from a neutral point of view. If anyone disagrees with these statements, please cite in the talk page the specific sentences that contain slanted, biased, or promotional statements before re-instating the tag.Tpkaplan (talk) 17:01, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This needs improvement[edit]

But for the fact that this is or soon will be on the S&P 500 and therefore has or soon will get significant coverage I would nominate this page for deletion because the article (as of the time I write this) does not clearly indicate that the topic is actually notable. Being on the S&P 500 is a very likely indication that the company has met or soon will meet Wikipedia's notability criteria, but the article doesn't provide evidence that it has.

I hope someone with interests in these types of articles (but, of course, without any conflict of interest) will beef up this article so nobody slaps a {{notability}} tag on what is almost certainly a notable company. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 02:36, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
