In a recent televised interview, he also stated the only original live recording on the album is Peter Criss's drums." Is this a typo on the name or has he said that each is the 'only original'? Major Issues

This article has some inconsistencies that need addressing. Most glaringly, subsequent paragraphs assert that the album has never been certified beyond "Gold" status, but it has been awarded "Platinum" status. Both cannot be true. Also, a place called "Tri-Cities, Wyoming" is listed as a city in which the album was recorded. There is no "Tri-Cities, Wyoming." I'd like to see the source for this fact. Now someone has come in to list this album as 9x platinum. But this conflicts with gold and the 4x platinum in other places in the article. Unless someone cites a good source, I'm striking all three. This is ridiculous. Monkey Bounce (talk) 03:13, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Alive has been eligible for the platinum award and multiplatinum award but since it was released prior to 1976 it was not eligible for the awards, so for now it remains gold. It has in fact from many sources, sold a little over 4 million copies since it's release, this was stated on allmusic.com's website. Since It's release, Alive has only sold around 2 million copies to date, according to a recent audit.

In the 70's if it sold 2 million albums, it would be considered 4 million since it was a double album. It did not meet the criteria of 100 minutes for each side, the riaa site still says it is gold. It has not been certified above gold for forty years, I would imagine it's past gold by now, and pass the million mark too.
