duplication marking error[edit]

The current article is not duplicated from http://www.indiawijzer.nl/tourism_travelling_to_india/fairs_and_festivals/february/ali_ai.htm. The link has much fewer information than the present article.উদ্দীপতালুকদাৰ (talk) 13:34, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because...

The dulication report was an error, it has some resemblance to the linked article, but the article has more information than the link. Moreover, the duplication phrases are just common areas, link:[[1]]. It has found matches in 'ali ai ligang', 'during this festival', 'held every year on the first wednessday' etc. Most could be just chance resemblance.) --উদ্দীপতালুকদাৰ (talk) 13:51, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Converting to redirect[edit]

This article appears to have been created by copy-and-paste from the existing article at Folk_Dances_of_Assam#Ali_Ai_Ligang. Copying like this to create an article is not allowed, as it gives no way to attribute authorship of the text. See Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. There should always have been a redirect from this title to that article, and there now is one. PamD 14:20, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this is right. I contested about the 'duplication report' where the content was said to be duplicated from [[2]]. On a different note, there is some doubt about putting Ali Ai Ligang as a folk dance form. Because as far as I know Ali Ai Ligang is a festival, the dances associated with Ali Ai Ligang are named separately. Anyway, this should better be discussed in the [[Folk_Dances_of_Assam. উদ্দীপতালুকদাৰ (talk) 16:02, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've rewrote several sections of this article to avoid copyright problems. Yes, this article is longer than the source but that does not stop there being copyright problems. The description of the dance was clearly taken from that page and it would seem many other sentences were copy and pasted as well and so still a copyright problem. I've rewrote or removed any content that clearly originated on the source and that content should not be re-introduced. Dpmuk (talk) 13:30, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
