SA Alfa Romeo or Alfa Romeo SpA[edit]

I've seen in the 1950 and 1951 season entry list that the Alfa Romeo entrant is listed as 'SA Alfa Romeo'. However, forix.autosport.com lists the entrant as 'Alfa Romeo SpA'. I reckon the latter is correct, since 'SpA' is Italian, while 'SA' is, among others, French. The article 'S.A. (corporation)' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.A._%28corporation%29) mentions the same.

There seems to be some disagreement: gpracing.net192 and Sheldon and Rabagliati's "Black Books" say "SA Alfa(-)Romeo", whereas, as you point out, Forix says "Alfa Romeo SpA". -- DH85868993 11:14, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see. I checked some Italian Wikipedia pages, too: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giuseppe_Farina mentions 'Alfa Romeo SpA', too, though the 1950 Formula 1 Season page talks about 'Scuderia Alfa Romeo'. But that could just be plain Italian for 'the Alfa Romeo stable' and not the team's name.

rating[edit]

Put top as two time wc, before constructor titles, nowadays usually counted to brand also.. --— Typ932T | C  16:49, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bots exclusion template[edit]

This article has the bots exclusion template ( {{bots}} {{#if:$deny|with arguments $1 ) applied to it. This template should generally be a temporary fix until the article or bot can be changed, to resolve the underlying problem. Please explain here why the template is being used so that the article or bot can be fixed if possible.Rich Farmbrough, 16:21 7 September 2008 (GMT).

OK looks like an interwiki problem. I'd like to try a fix, let me know if the problem recurs. Rich Farmbrough, 21:09 7 September 2008 (GMT).
I'm trying again, I have revised, I believe, all the foreign language interwikis. Rich Farmbrough, 12:48 13 September 2008 (GMT).
I'm leaving the bots tempoate for a few days, just in case someone reverts on the German WP. Rich Farmbrough, 12:53 13 September 2008 (GMT).

Peter de Klerk[edit]

Do de Klerk's entries in the 1963 and 65 South African GPs count for Alfa? Because the articles for both races link to here, but there is no mention of him in the article. Thanks. WilliamF1two (talk) 17:16, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sponsoring[edit]

A lot of information has been added on Alfa Romeo's sponsoring of Sauber in 2018. However, I find it weird that there is no mention here anywhere of their sponsoring of Scuderia Ferrari during the last three seasons. Any thoughts?Tvx1 01:32, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality flag infobox[edit]

I noticed the team's nationality is not noted. According to https://www.formula1.com/en/teams.html it should be Swiss. 2A02:A210:A001:A380:8D42:54BE:7076:E786 (talk) 17:59, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox summarizes their entire history, not only the active team's one. Therefore it's better to have none.Tvx1 16:46, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MRD acquisition?[edit]

Is there any contemporary evidence supporting the assertion that "In 1988, Alfa Romeo (Fiat Group) bought Motor Racing Developments Ltd. (otherwise known as the Brabham F1 team)?" This article cites a random blog as its source, which seems less than credible, considering that everyone's understanding for the last thirty years has been that Alfa/Fiat merely hired MRD/Brabham to design/construct their ProCar entry. (To add to the confusion, the Wikipedia article for MRD/Brabham repeats the subject assertion in one paragraph, but contradicts it in another, saying "Ecclestone announced he had sold MRD to EuroBrun team owner Walter Brun for an unknown price"—neither citing a source.)
