Spelling[edit]

As far as I can see the spelling with K is the Turkish and the spelling with C is the Romanian version of her name. How do we want to handle this here as she is a dual national? Spelling should be uniform throughout this article, though. Proofreader (talk) 12:29, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Edits[edit]

This is such a bizarre article. Who made these recent edits? The opening paragraph claims:

"Her plans to play for the Turkey national team were shattered as Turkey has also naturalized Cuban opposite player Melissa Vargas, and the rules of the FIVB only allow one naturalized player in a national team. The Turkish Volleyball Federation itself denied having ever had any plans to recruit Karutasu for the national team."

I have never seen anything like this in Wikipedia before. There are no sources for this supposed information, no quotes, nothing.. Moreover it reeks of POV. "Her dreams are shattered"? Wikipedia supposed to give objective, source-based information, this is not the place for inserting an editor's assumptions on a subject. More bizarrely, the naturalization process of Melissa started a year before Alexia, therefore it is ridiculous to assume that Alexia did not know about Melissa's situation when she started her own naturalization process. The last part about Turkey did not have any intention for her playing for the Turkish NT is an absolute lie, as well. The president of the Turkish Volleyball Federation stated literally dozens of times, that Alexia will play for Turkey after the end of the probation period FIVB forces on every naturalized player.

Here are some recent sources about her situation:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/f2ELxNDKY_I (The president of the Turkish Volleyball Federation states that Alexia will start to play for Turkey after March, 2024).

https://www.aydinlik.com.tr/haber/voleybol-milli-takimlarinin-vitamin-ana-sponsoru-solgar-vitamin-oldu-devsirme-kararinda-art-niyet-yok-422836 (Here, the President himself declares that both Alexia and Vargas will play for the Turkish NT, and he personally gave his best to make this deal happen).

https://tvf.org.tr/haberler/alexia-carutasu-turk-vatandasi-oldu/ (Official website of the Turkish Volleyball Federation states that she will be eligible to play for Turkey in 2024).

Alexia went to Turkey while she was just 15. She has graduated from a Turkish high school, and recently enrolled to a Turkish university. Her entire family resides in Turkey, her little brother plays for a Turkish basketball team. Obviously she plans to continue her volleyball career there, and there is nothing wrong that. It is completely unacceptable to have such a biased entry for a volleyball player who is just trying to follow a career path she has chosen to fulfill her potential. This whole article should be re-edited by someone who adheres to facts and has no bias against her. 78.185.148.229 (talk) 15:00, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
