Death of Alexander Davion[edit]

Added link to Talking Pictures site with reference to date of death of Alexander Davion. Death was also acknowledged on air before screening of two consecutive showings of episodes of Gideon's Way in November 2019. There don't appear to be any obituaries in any print media eg Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Stage etc. Jamie Stuart (talk) 16:00, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Alexander Davion[edit]

Would anyone be able find acceptable citations, reputable references etc for the date of death for the British actor Alexander Davion. He is widely reported, on various websites, to have died on September 28, 2019 although there don't appear to be obituaries in print media. The British television channel Talking Pictures site includes an obituary and with reference to date of death. Death was also acknowledged on air before screening of two consecutive showings of episodes of history TV show, Gideon's Way, in November 2019. I made some edits to include this and added the date of death and a link. This has now been reverted with " no source on death " as the edit description. Can anyone help/ advise. Thanks Jamie Stuart (talk) 09:03, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is a probate record from the Newcastle office, available via this link: https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills for an Alexander Davion who died on 28 September 2019. Whether this is the same Alexander Davion cannot be proved from this document. There are claims that his son posted on Facebook about his death, however, again this doesn't provide assurance that it is the same Davion. Having said that, many reputable organisations seem to be treating him as having died. QuiteUnusual (talk) 16:28, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Plus the GRO has no record of his death, or of anyone with that name, which is odd as there is a probate record. Must be a glitch in the UK government systems (no surprise there) or he didn't die in the UK - QuiteUnusual (talk) 16:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Real simple. Someone in Newcastle goes to the office and looks at the document, or someone buys a copy online. (Its a public document but you can't publish it.) If the DOB and people mentioned match, then its him. Fr.wikipedia.org says "né le 31 mars 1929".71.230.16.111 (talk) 06:03, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
