After the Revolutionary War[edit]

>and the economic, political and social history related to the land speculation, founding and settlement of Cooperstown, New York after the American Revolutionary War.

"After the American Revolutionary War" means anytime between 1783-2015. It needs a specific date. Rissa, copy editor (talk) 22:32, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Narrative history[edit]

"Taylor is among a generation of historians committed to the revival of narrative history..."

Should this be "modern narrative history"? Rissa, copy editor (talk) 22:46, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dates needed[edit]

>Taylor is the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor of History at the University of Virginia.[2] He taught previously at the University of California, Davis[3] and Boston University.

I think this part would be improved by adding the relevant dates. Rissa, copy editor (talk) 22:26, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Narrative history[edit]

>Taylor is among a generation of historians committed to the revival of narrative history, rejecting the method-driven, quantitative work of the previous generation of "new social historians" and the theory-laden work of more recent "new cultural historians."

This sentence is very judgmental plus it won't mean a thing to the average reader. I think it should be rewritten to explain what "new social historian" and "new cultural historian" mean and how Taylor's approach differs. And with links, if possible. I for one would like to find out more about this, it sounds interesting. Rissa, copy editor (talk) 22:55, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pursued[edit]

>also addressed this borderland area and strategies pursued by various groups.

....to go to lunch? Exchange Christmas cards? This needs to be specified. Rissa, copy editor (talk) 23:09, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cousins' Wars[edit]

>The War of 1812 has also been characterized as a continuation of the Revolutionary War, one of what Kevin Phillips described as Cousins' Wars (1999) in his book by the same title.

Phillips should not be included in the text: "The War of 1812 has also been characterized as a continuation of the Revolutionary War, sometimes called the Cousins' Wars. (reference to Phillips' book, page etc) Rissa, copy editor (talk) 23:18, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
