The result of the move request was: move I have reviewed the comments below. There was some discussion about deleting a couple of the proposed moves, if that is the wish of anyone then said article should be taken to WP:AFD. This is not the place for it. The only points from the conversation below I have taken into consideration are ones directed at the move. I have reviewed MOS:COORDINATES and the Potentially confusing or technically problematic characters. It is not clearly laid out that coordinates should use a prime yet every example uses a prime. Also there was mention about removing a 0 from some of the names, in this case I will not be removing the 0 as per MOS:COORDINATES which notes that there should be "consistency of decimal places or minutes/seconds between latitude and longitude.". In this case leaving the 0 in the title of the article is being done for consistency. After reviewing other articles I believe to the best of my ability that this is the correct choice in the face of consensus in the conversation below. I am going to be WP:BOLD and move these articles, if this is in an error or violation that slipped my mind or I didn't know about please ping me and I'll clean up my mess. – Proper symbols for minute and second of arc and removal of unnecessary "Jordan". (I plan to follow with similar H through Z topics.) — BarrelProof (talk) 19:33, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comment, could the coords just be removed like at Talk:Amirabad (western Baft)? I don't think readers find them as helpful for navigating. DankJae 01:15, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, this is also a more natural disambiguation than using coords. EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 13:04, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I believe Awthaw (25°16'0"N 95°'13"E) might not satisfy WP:NGEO, the maplandia source doesn't seem to show Awthaw at the coords and I could only find the southern Awthaw in a cursory government document search (added the source i used to the page). Delete both Gwegyi and southern Awthaw - I checked Gwegyi as well- couldn't find it or ကွေ့ကြီး, Sagaing in any source or cursory searches. Both Gwegyis are not on google, all the Gwegyi's are in other township/states. As for Awthaw, the northern one seems to be the only one I can find in Homalin Township as well- which is how Burmese Wikipedia treats Awthaw EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 21:53, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What does it mean to immediately follow the degree mark with a minute mark as in "95°′3″E" or to omit the minutes as in "24°45″N"? I see this kind of thing in the coordinates of the second Awthaw and both Gwegyis. The coordinates in the infoboxes in those articles don't match the ones in the titles (and don't look like that). I think the second Awthaw should be Awthaw (25°16′N 95°13′E) and the two Gwegyis should be Gwegyi (24°45′N 95°3′E) and Gwegyi (25°14′N 95°58′E). — BarrelProof (talk) 22:06, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as a procedural matter, makes sense- but i can't confirm what the southern Gwegyi or the Awthaw should be since they apparently do not exist in the source or in searches. I can support to move, but I'd just AfD the sourceless articles and remove the need for disamb all together. EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 13:46, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WP:PROD may suffice for any that seem completely unverifiable. For me it would be OK to keep this RM open until any relevant PRODs and AfDs are resolved. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:30, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I submitted an RM at Talk:Hunawng (24°49"N 94°53"E)#Requested move 29 December 2023 that covers H through O. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:05, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I have only looked for articles that contain a quote mark in the title. Article titles that contain lat/long coordinates that only go down to minutes of precision without including seconds will not be detected by that search. I suspect there may be a lot of those, but I have not yet figured out how to construct a search for them. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:57, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I submitted an RM at Talk:Panglong (23°53'0"N 98°22'0"E)#Requested move 30 December 2023 that similarly covers P through Z. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:30, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are they disambiguated by coordinates in RS?—blindlynx 21:39, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Use Natural Disamb - After failing a PROD for Awthaw, I've found the original database source for the Burmese ones. I've nominated for AfD because I think it still doesn't meet WP:NGEO, but for the general disambiguation, I think we should follow the Myanmar wikipedia page and disambiguate by village tract.
So:
The decimalized coordinates are from the original source's Sagaing zip file. I'm also using the spellings from the original source in my suggestion for Gwegyi. Removing the phrase "village tract" from the title is also an option if the disamb remains clear enough to the average reader. EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 20:04, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
pagemover note: @BarrelProof, @BD2412 any considerations for this before this discussion is closed off? – robertsky (talk) 12:47, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are some details that were discussed above that would be nice to consider. I can't think of anything else. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:41, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
