My grandfather worked on this. I'll have to get some more info and write up an addition.

Reactor size[edit]

"The ARE was designed to be a prototype of a 350-megawatt, BeO-moderated, circulating-fuel aircraft reactor." The number of 350 MW sounds a little bit too high. Even if later the use case has been identified for a 350 ME on board on a strategic bomber, the experiment would not be a prototype, but a small scale model. --Gunnar (talk) 17:21, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
