Ridse / Ridge[edit]

Just as background, ridse is not a Gaelic word. It's a phonetic borrowing of the Engish word "ridge." In Gaelic, the letter D, next to an I, sounds like English J; the letter S, next to an E, sounds like English SH.

Am Faclair Beag, the Gaelic dictionary, suggests for "ridge" words like iomair (ridge of land) or aonach (steep place, ridge). OtherDave (talk) 18:17, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
