WP:BLP1E?[edit]

I was just hoping to get some thoughts on whether this individual meets notability guidelines like WP:GNG or whether this was a case of notability only for a single event. I see a mention that the subject led a medical association in Pakistan, but the only source for that seems to be a dead link to some sort of phone directory. Unless I'm missing something, almost everything seems to relate to the shoe incident. I did notice though that a notability tag was removed some time ago though, so it seemed a little heavy-handed to nominate it for AfD without getting some other perspectives.
