I'll get to this shortly--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 10:40, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much. Just to let you know, I have been trying to think of an appropriate illustration to go along with the article, but I cannot think of any. A portrait would be perfect, but as far as I know, none exists.Tfhentz (talk) 22:11, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not to worry--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:04, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Link Maryland on first use, captain, rifle unit, Frederick, first sergeant, third lieutenant, 2nd lieutenant
    • I'm going to expand this to all ranks, places and political units.
  • fine education provide details to back up "fine". If you're quoting the source, put quote marks around the statement.
  • delink Continental Army and American Revolutionary War in the Revolutionary War section as they're redundant to the links in the lead
  • Ping me when these are done.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:04, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have completed all your requested revisions, including a number of other wikilinks to ranks, places, political units, etc. All were good catches!Tfhentz (talk) 13:50, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Much better, but you missed a few on first use: company, colonel and lieutenant colonel (spell them out)
  • Washington's Main Army A couple of issues here: you haven't identified Washington and Main Army wasn't the name of the troops under his command. I'd suggest either calling them the Continental Army or just Washington's troops
  • Link turnpike, shilling, probate, Chief Justice
  • You need a cite for the middle paragraph of the Early Pittsburgh section
    • Just move the new cite to the end of the paragraph and move the source to the references section from the external links section.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:48, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think that a link to the modern Republican party is appropriate for the party of the same name in 1813
  • You might be able find a picture of his tombstone on findagrave.com--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 14:35, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can I cite a web-site link as a reference to Tannehill being a Congressman? There are several good ones that have lists of Congressmen, including Tannehill.
    Yes, see above.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:48, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I've got a good photo of his tombstone from Findagrave. Can I use this in the article? -- It might have a copyright.Tfhentz (talk) 17:37, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have completed all additional revisions, except for adding a photo of a tombstone from Findagrave.com. All their images are copyrighted according to the website. Too bad because it is a nice photo.Tfhentz (talk) 22:13, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Clean up the References section: you don't need to put page numbers and links to the pages there if you've given the pages in the Notes section. Move the links for the online sources to the actual books/manuscripts instead. You'll need to provide ISBNs or OCLC numbers for each reference and bibliographic info for each volume of multi-volume books like the Journals of the Continental Congress. You don't need to give page counts, call numbers, or detailed explanations as to the contents of any source like you did for the pay roll of Long's Provisional Rifle Company.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:48, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. Thanks for the suggestions. This will take a little time to get done. I'll ping you when finished. Tfhentz (talk) 16:05, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    No rush.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 16:07, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have completed all of the latest revisions except for adding the ISBN's. I can't find any easy way to search for these online. Can you offer a suggestion as to how to do this? Thanks.Tfhentz (talk) 14:20, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Go to [1]. Be advised that ISBN's only came into use in the 1970s while OCLC #s have been given to all printed books held by libraries. Manuscripts and documents don't have either. Worldcat has both ISBN and OCLC #s if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the info page.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 14:32, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay; I think I've got the References squared away now, and thanks for the link to WorldCat. I moved all Reference links to the "Notes" section to be consistent. The References themselves should look a lot trimmer. Let me know what you think.Tfhentz (talk) 20:11, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
