Written by the Company[edit]

This was obviously written by the company which makes the software. It reads like an advertisement and contains unnecessary details. 96.236.197.120 (talk) 12:25, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Of course the company edits it... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.177.128.131 (talk) 16:44, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Google Books???[edit]

How is Google Books relevant? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robotwisdom (talkcontribs) 10:30, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The author's point was that even though Accelerated Reader offers a large number of quiz titles, the number of available quizzes is dwarfed by the entire corpus of books in existence. I agree, it's not completely relevant...obviously the portion of the total corpus of books that gradeschoolers would even consider reading is no where near the total number of books ever written. The person who put that in is a critic of the product. Take if for what it's worth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.177.128.131 (talk) 16:49, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs a rewrite[edit]

I'm sorry, but the state of this article is a mess. The whole article is just a promotion for the subject, and the criticism section is just an essay trying to prove a researcher's criticism. Also, most if not all of the citations are improper. This can be classified as patent nonsense and should be speedily deleted, if not rewritten. Please help improve this article. Also some of the citations are self published by the company or its parent company, Renaissance Learning, thus making these sources unreliable, and they must be deleted.

Sincerely, Thenewright22 (talk) 12:14, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This article is one step closer to being fixed once and for all. I have replaced all of the citations within this article, as shown here:

Initial release date is wrong[edit]

I remember taking Accelerated Reader tests in 1994. It must have been released before then. It was a completely text-based program that ran on MS-DOS at that time. Ben Boldt 03:34, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I found a reference on their website and updated the article. Ben Boldt 03:47, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
