How are the cells counted?[edit]

Could anybody please add some part to the article explaining how this counting is carried out in practice? I find it hard to believe that someone is looking through a microscope counting the cells one by one, but what is the alternative? Octonion (talk) 08:27, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
