Avi, not Abi[edit]

The nickname for Abraham in Hebrew is 'Avi', not 'Abi'. This is how he was known in Israel. Is there any reason why Avi is referenced here as Abi? I'd like to move this article. Gil_mo 12:25, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I'm afraid I'm strongly inclined to move this back to "Abi Ofarim". That is the name under which he performed (at least in Europe, I have no idea about Israel), and gets 35,600 Ghits. Avi Ofarim, by contrast, gets only 438 Ghits. Also, on the image of the single cover for Cinderella Rockefella, it is quite clearly spelled "Abi". Cheers, DWaterson 20:38, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why not make it a redirect, from 'Avi Ofarim' to 'Abi Ofarim'? Sam Golden (talk) 18:57, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
