- I served in a unit near to the 1st of the 54th in West Germany in the early '80s. We were the 1/52 Infantry and known as the "Ready Rifles", which I see listed on that regiment's page as its "special designator". The 1/54 were called in the same vein "Mailed Foot", which I do not see noted. I'll add it if and when I can find backup.Shellus Maximus 06:05, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
