The result of the move request was: moved.

3 editors support the move, while only 1 opposes. The proposed name is broad enough to encompass both incidents. Accordingly, I find a consensus to move.(non-admin closure) Havelock Jones (talk) 15:17, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

400 Mawozo2021 Haitian missionary kidnappings – 400 Mawozo gang is only notable because of the current kidnappings of Catholic missionaries in Haiti.Phillip Samuel (talk) 20:31, 21 October 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 02:10, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Move The kidnapping should have its own article and we could add the gang's history in the background section there Scaramouche33 (talk) 13:29, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose move: The nominator's rationale is flawed. The kidnapping of the Catholic missionaries in April 2021 was a separate incident from the kidnapping of the Mennonite missionaries in October 2021.--Tdl1060 (talk) 01:30, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Neutral. Works both ways. Article needs work in any case, as its current scope does not fit either title very well. That can and should be fixed, for whatever title is decided here. But if we don't move it, we should create a redirect from the proposed new title. As yet there is not nearly enough material for splitting to be appropriate. Moved back[edit]

Given that there are quite a lot of sources from 2023 and 2024 talking about this gang, it is not a one-event story... perhaps if someone wants to create a substantial page about the kidnappings, that would be of interest, but today the primary gap in the encyclopedia is a page about the gang itself. -- SashiRolls 🌿 · 🍥 23:34, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
