Eastbound station[edit]

Wouldn't it be more precise to say that 38th & Blake is the "first station eastbound from Union Station", rather than the "first eastbound station"?

It's not a given that RTD stations serve both directions. The 16th Street and 18th Street stations downtown are examples of where separate stations serve different directions - two northeastbound (on California St.) and two southwestbound (on Stout St.).

Was my change to keep the final sentence from being a fragment acceptible: Adding "Travel times are" before "About 4 minutes ..."?

Train direction is not the same as cardinal direction. By using a term like "eastbound" instead of "east of", we can avoid confusion associated with train lines that change direction mid-route. Standardization is important, especially when dealing with a common issue (transit) that comes with local variations. The travel time change is fine and got swept up in the revert, so my apologies. That's fine, but to me, "eastbound station" suggests that westbound passengers aren't served, as at some Calgary CTrain downtown stations. Again, Downtown Denver has some northbound-only stations and some southbound-only stations. Propose "first station eastbound from Union Station" since now eastbound modifies the direction of travel and not 38th & Blake station itself.

That works pretty well. SounderBruce 04:04, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
