Use of the Term "Alder"[edit]
This is not a term used in Chicago by laypeople, the news media, or the City itself. The City uses the term alderperson on its official website. It's not the end of the world, but I don't see why we are importing a custom from Madison, Wisconsin that is not used in official or unofficial capacities in Illinois generally or Chicago specifically.
