Taylor Hall Trade

While your source is verified, we generally try to stay as far away as possible from using Twitter if possible. Now if you want to use his work from ESPN that's fine to do (we try to apply the same standards to the notable Canadian reporters too). Also, we normally will use the league's report as our primary source as they are usually the most accurate. We'll use one of the major sports network sites (from either country) as a secondary source if needed and sometimes we'll go as far as using a local newspaper as a tertiary source if the secondary doesn't have the information that we need.

So division winners were not moved lower this season. Thankfully the only error this assumption produced involved flipping Colorado and Washington, which has already been corrected. Deadman137 (talk) 23:20, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Expanded 2020 Playoffs and Trades

The article should explain somewhere the effects of the expanded 2020 playoffs on trades. The Qualifying Round is considered part of the playoffs, but trades conditional on making the playoffs aren't triggered unless a team makes it to Round One. This most closely reflects the intent of the trade at the time it was made, since no one could anticipate the circumstances that added the extra round. I'm not sure where it should go and I don't have any references at hand, so I wanted to see what other editors thought. Jwolfe (talk) 07:01, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

At this point I don't think that we'll need to, as all but one of these trades are now resolved. Any remaining conditional trades that have playoff performance attached to them are not affected by the additional qualifying round. Deadman137 (talk) 12:32, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Round 4 notes section

I am just curious, why should the condition for the Simmonds trade not be explained fully? The way it is worded now is very confusing, as the ambiguity of it implies that Philly would get a pick from Nashville for Simmonds provided Nashville doesn't win a playoff round. Formatting: Notes

The Notes for each round appear as a separate section outside of the drop-down that the Notes refer to. This leads to extensive scrolling required between draft rounds.

Also, the statistics by Country list the rank of each country in the first left column. However, where there are countries that each had the same number of draft picks, the rank increases by 1, when there are two countries toed for that rank. The standard convention is to skip the following rank, for instance if two countries tied for 7th place, the next rank would be 9th place. 98.7.206.64 (talk) 13:49, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Tim Stützle and Alexis Lafrenière

I know that the policy for WP:HOCKEY has been to avoid diacritics, but in the case of Stützle and Lafrenière, they are now almost exclusively using them in all media, both in North American and abroad.
