Articles on English Wikipedia are mostly titled using the most common name (as used by reliable sources) even if there's a certain '"official" name preferred by government/organization or individual. 2018 Bosnian general election → 2018 Bosnian and Herzegovinian general election – The correct and official name of the country; Bosnia is only the northern part of the country. Other countries with more than one region have election articles with full names, such as 2015 Trinidad and Tobago general election or 2015 Saint Kitts and Nevis general election. Oppose "Bosnian" is the common adjectival form for the country; "Bosnian and Herzegovinian" is barely used at all (see Ngram). Nominator ignores titles like 2018 Antiguan general election (no Barbuda), 2018 São Toméan legislative election (no Principe), 2015 Vincentian general election (no Grenadines) etc. I would say the Trinidadian articles probably need moving. Support. The tradition in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1945-1992, 1992 - ) is "bosanskohercegovački", "bosansko-hercegovački" (Bosnian-Herzegovinian), "bh." (BH.). Common adjectival form in international form is wrong, because it has been spread by inproper abbreviating. Sarajevo is Bosnian city, not Herzegovinan. Mostar is Herzegovinan city, not Bosnian.   - Not just in Bosnian, but as well in Slovenian, Croatian, Albanian, Serbian, Macedonian, Hungarian and Montenegrin, and that was not just "common", but official. Dropping adjective "Herzegovinian" has been political scandal and caused disapproval among all ethnicities from Herzegovina. Question is: how the "common use" in English has been formed? Because of lack of knowledge, superficiality or laziness of international journalists, publicists, politicians and diplomats? I do not want to fight over this, I have just expressed my disagreement. Proposed Split[edit]

I propose that the sections dealing with the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina be split off into a new article titled "2018 Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina general election" or something similar.. The general election page is intended to discuss the national elections, not the elections in the two separate entities. Besides, the other entity, Republika Srpska, has its own article for its election. Such a change would also apply to other articles for Bosnian–Herzegovinian elections. I tend to prefer separate pages for local elections even when they happen the same day as national ones, as they tend to end up completely overlooked by the latter in common pages, but I'm not a very active user, so I will leave such a decision to the others.
