Renegotiation of 2015-16[edit]

I think the date of the when the Gocio she should be changed from 2016 to 2015-16 as negotiations started in like 2015. (46.65.75.27 (talk) 15:47, 9 June 2016 (UTC))[reply]

I have changed the date accordingly yes the agreement was signed in February 2016 however you are correct the negotiations that she started in the summer of 2015 and the new title now reflects this. (151.225.209.245 (talk) 16:07, 11 March 2017 (UTC))[reply]

Red card question[edit]

The 'Red Card' section says: "The 'red card' allows a member of the Council of the European Union with the support of 15 other members to return a law to the European Parliament for further changes". This sounds not very significant, because if 16 out of 28 governments are against a new law, it would never be approved anyway. Is the text correct or have I misunderstood, or is this rule fairly meaningless? --BIL (talk) 18:17, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You're absolutely correct that it appears weak. My understanding is that it is different from an outright rejection in that it requires the Parliament to resubmit the legislation after taking in to account the feedback/concerns provided by the Council. Result of the Referendum[edit]

Britain voted to leave the EU. The article needs to take this into account.Robin S. Taylor (talk) 17:37, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It already does? Do you mean that this article may need to be renamed if the UK invokes Article 50 in 2016? If so, a new article will have to be started and names agreed. Meanwhile we have to wait until that happens and there is something to report. We can't invent something in the meantime. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:15, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We aren't leaving Europe. That's final. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.9.218.106 (talk) 23:22, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
