public instruction[edit]

@Talthiel: Hey, on the classification of public instruction, it's a bit of an oddity. Traditionally, the Wisconsin government is said to have four branches (executive, legislative, judicial, and administrative), but Superintendent of Public Instruction wasn't listed in any of those articles of the constitution. In the setup of the Wisconsin constitution, Article V is the Executive, and the only offices in that article are governor and lieutenant governor. Separately, there's Article VI (Administrative) that establishes Attorney General, Treasurer, and Secretary of State. Instead Superintendent of Public Instruction is defined in Article X (Education). So I dunno. I don't really care what category/label we use for these elections pages, but wanted to surface why I left it as its own category originally and open that up for discussion. -- Asdasdasdff (talk) 15:59, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, hmmm, I moved it to be in-line with the 2021 Wisconsin elections article, which lists it under the "Executive" heading Talthiel (talk) 16:00, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, funny, I made that one back in 2021 and put it in that (executive) category and now I'm ambivalent about it. Like I said, it's a weird one. Maybe we just stick with executive as a catch-all for non-judicial statewide elected offices. -- Asdasdasdff (talk) 16:17, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think it works because as far as I know the Superintendant is the only other statewide elected office that isn't judicial or constitutionally executive, it'd be a category for one election basically to not put it in with the executive offices Talthiel (talk) 16:26, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Supreme Court[edit]

@Asdasdasdff so one though I've had thats been rattling in my brain for a while was these infoboxes and seats. So obviously the "next election" isnt the one for that seat, its just for the next election to the court. But could we use the "elected" and "outgoing" members tab, often used for legislative elections (or to show congressional specials), to show the next or prior election for a given seat on the Supreme court?
