Preston City Council election, 2012 → Preston Council election, 2012 – Whilst accepting the rationale behind the decision to move this article, this article now stands out amongst Preston Council elections, and almost all other English councils, in having the full designation of the authority in its title. I request that Preston City Council election, 2012 is moved to Preston Council election, 2012 to fit the pattern of previous articles in this project.doktorbwordsdeeds 03:58, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose There's no such thing as "Preston Council". The correct name, per their website is "Preston City Council". It's not that this has the incorrect title, but the other articles that have the wrong title and should be moved to have "City" in their titles. This is as per the discussion that happened earlier for Leeds City Council's 2012 election. Lugnuts (talk) 14:45, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment As Preston only became a city in 2002, articles earlier than that should presumbly stay where they are; ones from 2003(?) onwards may be moved. Interplanet Janet, EsquireIANAL 09:18, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That makes sense. Lugnuts (talk) 13:09, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
