Overtime vs. Golden goal[edit]

Next to the score, the AET link redirects to Overtime article. Why should the AET link in the bracket template redirect to Golden goal article? I think the Golden goal link should be, in any case, in the goal information of the match.--M&m89 (talk) 03:32, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can get that fixed and have it linked to the goalden goal and field hockey section. I just think it should be golden goal as this is the rule. 1 goal and it's over, easy as that. And when we have an extra article for it, why not use it? Same for the bracket aet linking. Kante4 (talk) 03:34, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I get that. But if you think about it, the match was won WITH a golden goal DURING overtime. Both terms apply. I think we should leave the overtime link as it has been done in other articles, and do something with the fhgoal template to look like this. There it would be clear it was won by golden goal.--M&m89 (talk) 03:45, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But the article states that it still was after overtime and the rules to win it. The "aet" still shows on the first look that it went longer. And the other articles aren't interesting now, so that is not an argument. Kante4 (talk) 03:52, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How long has golden goal been used to settle tie breaks in field hockey? Is there any other method of settling a field hockey game with extra time? "After extra time" is very general, while "golden goal" is very specific. Lcmortensen (mailbox) 04:17, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
According to information in wiki articles, since the 70's. There appears not to be any other method during aet to win a match. Only penalties after aet finishes.--M&m89 (talk) 04:23, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've just seen in the FIH website they put the score and then AET, not GG for golden goal. It is implied that by winning during AET, the winning team scored a golden goal. Therefore I think the link should go to overtime. Maybe a section could be added in overtime article it that is the problem: no detail of field hockey in that article. Besides, putting the Golden goal link with the AET name is kind of confussing. They are two different concepts, two different things. --M&m89 (talk) 04:28, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
One of the reasons why i think GG should be used is that there is no mention of field hockey on the overtime aricle. Kante4 (talk) 10:22, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ahem - what is this website again? You can always add it to the overtime article. Lcmortensen (mailbox) 22:10, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
To save the trouble, we could always tooltip AET to read "after extra time" (as that is what it stands for) on hover instead of linking it anywhere (i.e. like this: a.e.t.. Lcmortensen (mailbox) 22:22, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
