I made the 2011LLWSbracket template but that wasn't something I was able to figure out how to do when I was making it. Consolation game[edit]

You are missing the consolation games. For example, Caribbean is playing Midwest right now on ESPN2. The "consolation game" is actually the third-place game. 76.28.71.161 (talk) 18:00, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That is incorrect. The third-place consolation game is August 28, beginning at 11:00 am EDT. The game you are referring to is being played as a result of the Caribbean and Midwest teams losing their first two games of the tournament. Tampabay721 (talk) 18:32, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well now I think I see what you mean. They're all consolation games. From what I understand, "Game A" and "Game B" between Caribbean-Aruba and Europe-New England are consolation games not particularly related to the tournament as the consolation game taking place on the final day of the tournament. Unlike the consolation games played in the tournaments during the 60s, 70s, and 80s, the ones like today are more for fun than for placement. Tampabay721 (talk) 18:53, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. The game you had listed as the consolation game, is actually the third place game. The rest of these consolation games though SHOULD be listed in the results section though. Not only are they televised on national TV, but they ARE considered games in the Little League World Series, despite the fact that they have no bearing on the winner 76.28.71.161 (talk) 15:34, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Double Elimination Hybrid[edit]

It seems really unfair to Montana and Mexico that they advance to their respective semi-finals unbeaten but now the tournament suddenly shifts to single elimination? It seems kind of odd that the format of double elimination is scrapped for such an important game. I wonder why little league chose this format?
