Schedual[edit]

hy im not good with computers but can someone add a schedual please. the link to the schedual is http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.php/ci_id/61090/la_id/1.htm. thank you very much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.32.141.183 (talk) 02:27, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why are the swedish broadcasting rights listed as TV6 and Viasat Sport when I'm quite certain that I saw the first game on SVT24 (public service channel)? Shouldn't that mean that it is SVT that has the broadasting rights? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.189.188.253 (talk) 08:16, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Schedule Changes[edit]

I noticed that the Top Group (which is the only group where this occurs) has teams redirecting to the Senior team instead of the Junior team. The two I noticed were Canada and the US. Does anyone know how to keep the formatting the same but have the links move to the Juniors page? Shootmaster 44 (talk) 23:58, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It actually happens for all teams for all tournaments because the ice hockey flag templates we use direct to the national men's program for each country which for most countries contain both senior and junior teams. Canada and the US have recently created separate junior team pages. The only way around this is to do the flag and country name manually and not use the template. -DJSasso (talk) 00:25, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Or you could copy the code from the ih template and switch it to be appropriate and create an ihj template like we did for women which we call ihw. -DJSasso (talk) 00:28, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I did create the ihj template. However, in copying it a few countries didn't work properly and there's an unwieldy space at the end, that I can't seem to remove. Are you any good with templates? If so can you take a look and see if that space can be removed and whether the US, Turkey and Sweden would direct properly? Shootmaster 44 (talk) 07:55, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think I removed the space; there was a {{documentation subpage}} at the end that I didn't see at Template:Ih or Template:Ihw. I hope it wasn't important. Schmloof (talk) 10:46, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colour coding[edit]

Copied from nitsansh talk page:

I have been doing the IIHF U20 wiki since 2006, we have never opted to go for the three coloured approach. Over-complication. Slaja (talk) 18:47, 1 January 2010 (UTC) [reply]

It's been done in many articles on sports competition. If teams move on to different phases, that should be indicated somehow. I don't think three colours are too complicated, but If you don't like this idea, then another method should be done.--Nitsansh (talk) 19:33, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See examples:

The two shades of green is a good solution. Slaja (talk) 20:12, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:COLOUR colour should never be used solely for indication of anything. So its not really appropriate to use colour to do this. However, as long as you use a legend you can get away with it. -DJSasso (talk) 22:33, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I find that the bright green is a little too harsh. Is there a more neutral version that's still distinguishable from the light green? Schmloof (talk) 23:33, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't take it anymore and changed it. Schmloof (talk) 09:30, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed while updating a good number of previous IIHF tournaments, that the preference seems to be toward the Template:hockeybox2. This appears to be two-fold, first to allow for references to be added for each game. The second thing it does is hides the goal scorers, so that the page isn't unwieldy and more aesthetically appealing. However, when I made the change it was reverted for the top group. So I am curious do people like the hockeybox2 better (as can be seen in the Division 2 schedule) or do we leave it as hockeybox as is now? Shootmaster 44 (talk) 23:25, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should use Template:hockeybox2, as it says that Template:fieldhockeybox should be used for field hockey. Armbrust (talk) 00:16, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah hockeybox2 was meant for hockey. We could change it to hide the scorers. I personally don't like references on each game and prefer an overall reference. However for international play maybe that isn't as easy as for NHL play. -DJSasso (talk) 13:35, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
