Game Notes[edit]

I was going to start working on the game notes for the New Mexico game, but I wanted to clarify how we want to handle this section. How detailed do we want to go with these game notes? For the SMU game I basically elaborated on the score drives for each team, and highlighted some key plays of the game. Last year, I took more of a Tech centric approach and really only highlighted Tech's scoring drives. I am also open to suggestions on how to improve the prose for this section. Thanks! —Voltin (T|C) 14:40, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think you did a great job on the SMU game notes. I don't see any reason to change the "format" you've used for the New Mexico game or any subsequent games. Team articles like 2005 Texas Longhorns football team go into way too much detail but the 2007 USC Trojans football team article seems to have appropriate sized summaries. Of course rivalry games, upsets, and bowl games are going to have more "fluff" about off the field events, but I say keep doing what you're doing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NThomas (talkcontribs)

Hope you haven't "given up" on the game note summaries. If Tech wins on Saturday, When Tech wins on Saturday, there's going to be a TON of hits on this page since the team's next game isn't till October. Having the the New Mexico game notes would be great. NThomas (talk) 17:08, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nope I haven't given up just been busy. I will see if I can't get them up before the game. But my time may be limited tomorrow (for obvious reasons :) ). Also I am not sure how much you all are aware of the current push for "civility" at the games (this one in particular) but I was wondering to what extent, if any, it should be covered in this section. —Voltin (T|C) 04:17, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have added the game notes for the New Mexico game. They may be a little bit rough, I will give them a second pass tomorrow. If I have time tomorrow I will also add the Texas game notes. —Voltin (T|C) 20:02, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recruitment[edit]

Some of the dates listed in the recruitment table are +1 year from that listed on Rivals and Scout, is this intentional? Also, should we still be listing the 2010 class when they're already on the team? 2010 Texas Longhorns football team has the 2010 class. I'll be happy to do a new table if it needs to be updated.
