Promotion and relegation zone colours

I'm happy to leave them in for the course of the season, but I was wondering how those teams that are promoted and relegated are going to be designated in the table since "P" and "R" are already in there as keys. - Dudesleeper 11:14, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

That's not what I was referring to. Say Bayern Munich are crowned champions with six games left - how would that be illustrated in the table? Would you make it Bayern Munich (champions) in the "Team" column or what? Same for those teams promoted with a few games remaining. - Dudesleeper 11:38, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Well if they were crowned champions before the end of the season then they obviously wouldn't be able to move down in the league table, so the 'C' in the notes section would show that they are the champions. Same with the zweite bundesliga, no team can move out of the top if they are officially promoted can they. --shanda 12:48, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

The "C" is already there, two games into the season. That's the point that you're not getting. Same with the 2. Bundesliga table. Right now it looks as though Karlsruhe have already been crowned champions and Duisburg and 1860 Munich have achieved promotion. I say we remove the text in the "Notes" column (but save it elsewhere so it can just be pasted back in later) until the relevant milestones have been achieved. It'd be a better idea just to put that 36 games are played before the table is definate, the tags just denote what reward the finisher in the positions gains at the end of the seaons if they continue to stay in that position. It is common on a lot of football tables, I know here in England that on tables on television that they highlight play-off positions and automatic promotions, aswell as the relegation zone. In my opinion it just requires basic football table reading knowledge to that it works that way.

The format of the Eredivisie table is indeed nice and could work well, what do other people think about that style and format? --shanda 18:39, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I'd say yes. Add a legend/key for the colours but leave the "Notes" column in to confirm champions, European-competition qualification, play-off achievers, relegated teams, etc. as they happen towards the season's end. - Dudesleeper 22:52, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

color legend?

Just wondering what the colors meant in the standings table. I think the green and red are obvious, but what about the blue and beige? Perhaps this explaination should be added to the article. // Laughing Man 19:13, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

There should be seperate colors for teams that make the UEFA Champions League Group stage and those that start in the third round. What's the point of having a key which differentiates the situations of the colors are the same (green) for both? That's why I added the yellow coloring for Werder Bremen.
