@Pechristener:: The description of this loco in Multiplex locomotive, the new page which you created in October 2023, was already more detailed than the description you have added to this page some days later (You haven't even mentioned here that this quad wasn't even built)

Why? IMHO, it should be the other way round: "Multiplex" is a catch-all for a number of different loco designs, so where a page dedicated to a specific loco type exists, the details should be on that page, and "Multiplex" should have just a simple description, with a link to the relevant page, e.g. "Main page: see 2-8-8-8-8-2". The same could be said of most of the other types in "Multiplex". Kokopelli-UK (talk) 21:23, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I can't remember exactly how I started this page. It's best to use the White Notations page as a start page and link from there to the pages about the individual locomotives that use the White Notation mentioned on that page. In this case, where there was only one project for a locomotive that was never built, and there are only two pages as a starting point, you can do it either way. The important thing is that there is a detailed description in one place and a summary in the other. In this case, there was no real summary and no clear link to the detailed description. I could have done it the other way round and left the detailed description on the Multiplex page, but we could also do as you suggest and put the detailed description here, which is what I have now done.
