It would be noteworthy to mention that this was the match that ended Brazil's 35 game streak of being unbeaten, since December 1993 (also against Mexico), which was a record that only got equalized by Spain (2007 - 2009) and just now surpassed by Italy with their draw against Switzerland in September 2021.
