Title[edit]

I'm not sure if the name of the article aptly describes the event.

First, how many amendments took place in 1983? The title does not refer to the specific event it touches on.

Secondly, "amendment" is wrongly spelled.

Thirdly, you said while moving the page that sources say it is hardly a crisis yet, you have not given the source. At the same time, several other sources cited in the page said that it is a constitutional crisis.__earth (Talk) 01:07, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My basis are found mainly from "Google books"--there are titles stating "1983 constitutional crisis",[1] "1988 constitutional crisis"[2] but barely one or two stating "1993 constitutional crisis" crisis:[3] (Note: Not the Russian one, but the Malaysian one) ammendment:http://books.google.com/books?q=1993+malaysia+%22constitutional+amendment%22&lr=&spell=1

You can perhaps try to search for web pages on google--which I did, and articles which I read from the star usually tend to refer to the 1983 and 1988 as constitutional crisis. The 1993 one is usually not really seen as one--one example in this article you can see [4] but it would be against wikipedia's guidelines to provide a whole list of sources arguing that it is a "constitutional crisis" or not.

For me, Im certain that most authors should have a considerable insight into what exactly happened when they would prefer to use "crisis" or not.

Usually, a constituional crisis occurs when the government cannot function as a result of constitutional disputes--as per Constitutional crisis. This isnt really like the 1988 condition whereby there is indeed problems with the judiciary--hence compromising the law. To me, to say the 1993 one is a "crisis" is very subjective. It would be better to play safe and take it as an "ammendment", since the main focus is on the event of the "ammendment" which is undisputable that it indeed took place, which most sources tend to stick to. Can, I feel the new name is better, after browsing the category of articles in Category:Constitutional amendments. Mr Tan (talk) 04:40, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reasons name change[edit]

Sorry, Hafiz, but I did get the original Bills--more than one bill is ammended--sources directly from parliament:[5][6] Nowhere 66 was ever stated.

You infered from [7] doesnt necessitate in article 66 ammended again in 1993 after 1983. One book source you can also check--66 not stated--not only Article 181 as well [8].
