Results[edit]

There are some inconsistencies in the various results sources I have for this election:

  • The Nohlen & Stöver total number of votes cast in the PR elections is 1,000 higher than the complete total. I have assumed this is a mistake
  • The University of Essex source has a few inconsistencies:
    • Vote totals in the PR section differ slightly from the Nohlen & Stöver book (no more than four votes for any party). However, the total number of list votes stated at the top of the Essex source matches Nohlen's total, so I have stuck with the Nohlen list figures.
    • The constituency vote totals for the first and second round (plus the percentages) do not add up to the totals given at the bottom of the page. The difference is exactly the number of votes given to the Green Party. For now I have omitted the Green Party from the results table, as the text says that the GP was part of the Sajudis coalition). The number of invalid votes is assumed to be the difference between the total valid votes and the total votes.

I can also find no figures for how many constituency seats were won in the first round of voting (the VRK website doesn't go back to 1992), so have put all the constituency seats in the second round total column for now. Perhaps No longer a penguin might be able to help? I'll shortly be adding these more detailed tables to the other election articles. Cheers, Number 57 23:09, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Having looked at the 1996 and 2000 results, I've just realised that the Greens' figures were included in the total for the Sajudis coalition, so will add them back to the table. Number 57 23:37, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I followed your link to the University of Essex source and found this page, which contains files (SPSS and XLS) with votes for each candidate in each single-seat constituency (codebook is also available to to identify parties). You can see that LDDP won 8 individual constituency seats after the first round, Association of Poles in Lithuania - 1 and Sajudis - 1. This seems consistent with this source already in the article, which states that run-off was held in 61 constituencies. No longer a penguin (talk) 09:16, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for that, I've added it to the table. Number 57 10:52, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
