@Nbiver: Regarding this change, the total number of valid votes (25,832,858) is corroborated with other sources (although they claim this is the total votes cast, not valid votes), but the new apparent total number of votes (26,168,478) does not appear to match any source. What is the number of invalid votes in the government source? Are you able to upload a scan for other editors to WP:Verify these figures? Thanks, Number 57 11:43, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The number of valid votes 25,832,858 seems correct because the addition of the votes for the candidates gives also exactly this number.
In the governement source the turnout is given only with a percentage of 52.48 %. That is the same percentage if you calculate it with 26,168,478 and the total number of voters 49,863,829.
In the government source no number of invalid votes is given but a percentage of 1.28 %. With 335,620 invalid votes, you get exactly the same percentage.
So 25,832,858 can't be the total number of votes and must be the number of the valid votes. An the number of the total votes 26,168,478 is also exact because the official percentage of the voter turnout corresponds to this number. Nbiver (talk) 12:21, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, so you calculated the total votes yourself based on the turnout percentage? This is not acceptable practice on Wikipedia.
Just to confirm, the government source does give the exact vote figures for the minor parties, and you didn't calculate these yourself? Number 57 13:13, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
