Should these have titles like 1975 Men's Asian Volleyball Confederation championship? It looks like the 'C' in "AVC" is for "Confederation" in the cited source. —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 04:23, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actual event names in some of these cited sources are all over the place, such as "SMM 2017 ASIAN MEN'S SENIOR BNI 46 VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP" or "SMM 20th Asian 'Tourism Bank' Sr. Men's Volleyball Championship". —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 04:33, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@BarrelProof: Yeah, then there's a good chance the move which put the parent article at the current title may need to be reverted. In fact, the nominator here is the same nominator of Talk:Men's Asian Volleyball Championship#Requested move 10 September 2023; I'm thinking they should have probably listed all the articles in one swoop in the previous discussion to fortify consensus, but then again, WP:AGF and WP:CCC and the such, so it is what it is and I don't fault them for anything they did. Comment: For what it's worth, Talk:Men's Asian Volleyball Championship#Requested move 10 September 2023 is relevant. (Yes, there was a discussion, but the only participant was the nominator. Oppose: The proposed titles seem unsourced. Actual titles in cited sources are all over the place, as mentioned above. More precise and arguably accurate titles are needed, probably including the name of the organization that hosts the events and perhaps using WP:SENTENCECASE (e.g. "YYYY Asian Volleyball Confederation men's volleyball championship" or "YYYY AVC men's volleyball championship"). I looked at the Men's European Volleyball Championship and Men's South American Volleyball Championship title groups, and they seem to have the same problems. I find no sourcing for these titles. Having other bad titles does not justify having bad titles for this group. Notability is not even established for some of these, as no WP:independent reliable sources are cited. —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 17:56, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
