Untitled[edit]

The Wikipedia web page "United States House of Representatives Elections", is,regretfully, FULL OF ERRORS. I have noted too many cases where the cited candidates were wrong, and/or the percentage of the vote they received was wrong.

Take a look at the 1958 election,CA 19th District. The web page of the Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Congressional Quarterly "Guide to US Elections" both list the Republican candidate as Harry Vincent Leppek having received 16.6%of the vote. The Wikipedia has another person and vote percentage altogether.

I have been frequently noting needed edits as I have found them... but there are just too many

Please reconsider how you handle the new states of Alaska and Hawaii.[edit]

"All 437 seats to the United States House of Representatives" is appearing in the info-box. This isn't quite right, because in the 1958 general election, the 435 seats apportioned according to the 1950 census were up for election, and I presume that AT THAT TIME one seat was up for election for the new state of Alaska; the Alaska seat caused the House membership to increase to 436. Later, during 1959, Hawaii also became a state, and AT THAT TIME would be electing a 437th member to the U.S. House. The House membership would return to 435 when the reapportionment from the 1960 census took effect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 16:28, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Independent?[edit]

Who was the independent elected to Congress in this election? The article lists an independent in the Overall Results section, and this is echoed in 86th United States Congress, but all of the individual results give either a Democrat or Republican victor.--86.171.167.30 (talk) 10:47, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
