Restoration of unsourced content[edit]

@UCO2009bluejay and Mack2700:

This edit restored content (including four unsourced bullets) and lacked an WP:Edit Summary for context. The unsourced content in bulleted format does not read well. As such as I have reverted to the immediate prior version. I have no objection to potential return of this content, but the specific claims should be sourced and likely presented as prose rather than a one-off bullet list. I have an issue with the content because it's tone seems as if it is arguing that OSU doesn't deserve a claim for the national title. While I personally don't think the title is legitimate, it is also not my place to place mine or anybody else's point of view in the article. While many national title claims are dubious, wikipedia articles are not the place to argue which team was better.-UCO2009bluejay (talk) 01:07, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unneeded information about Army.[edit]

The wikipedia page is clearly about Oklahoma A&M, yet users such as Jeff in CA feel the need to obsessively add in info about Army's team in a poor attempt to attack Oklahoma State's championship claim. 2600:8804:586:3D00:D73B:C0F3:B71A:47E3 (talk) 19:58, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Saying in a parenthetical expression that Army was "unanimous No. 1 among AP Poll voters" is in no way an attack on OSU’s claim. It simply states who OSU shares the title with. Jeff in CA (talk) 23:03, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
National championships back in this era were often very murky. A discussion of Army's claims with respect to Oklahoma A&M's is entirely due. This is not an attack on Oklahoma State. Jweiss11 (talk) 00:43, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, which would be more appropriately discussed or mentioned in the 1945 college football season wikipedia page, rather than a page that is dedicated to Oklahoma A&M, not Army. 2600:8804:586:3D00:74E4:BDC1:5E68:1F7C (talk) 01:27, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It should be discussed at 1945 college football season, 1945 Army Cadets football team, and here. Notice how 1997 Michigan Wolverines football team discusses Nebraska and how 1991 Miami Hurricanes football team discusses Washington? Jweiss11 (talk) 01:32, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Would agree if it was added in the 1945 Army football team wiki page, and the 1945 college football season wiki page. However, neither of those pages mention Oklahoma A&M's title anywhere, which makes Army being included on Oklahoma A&M's page very hypocritical. 2600:8804:586:3D00:74E4:BDC1:5E68:1F7C (talk) 02:13, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is the picture of the AFCA Trophy really in the public domain?[edit]
