Article titles
I suggest we discuss the titles for the three articles 1888 Minneapolis General Conference, 1919 Bible Conference, and 1952 Bible Conference. These are all Adventist subjects, but the latter two in particular seem ambiguous. (I'm not saying all Adventist articles should have "Adventist" in the title, as most don't. Rather, perhaps these articles particularly should be more specific). Please centralise discussion here. Colin MacLaurin (talk) 10:46, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Colin, this is two years later, but I agree with you. I have started working on the 1952 Bible Conference. I think I will go ahead and change the name for that article. Be WP bold, right. :) DonaldRichardSands (talk) 16:20, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Importance?
Some may ask, is this really important to be a separate Wikipedia article? The answer depends on several things.
1. Must an article be proven to be of general interest in a community un-related to Adventism? If so, I doubt that this article can meet that standard.
2. Does the article expound on something important to a significant group? Adventism is a significant group in Wikipedia's world. The stand alone articles bear that out. Thus if the 1888 story has merit within the group, it can be said to have merit at Wikipedia.
3. Often a group's struggle reflects a parallel struggle in the wider society outside the group. This is true of the struggles with Adventism.
