True or false: it is certain that human beings will be extinct by then (not according to any songs, but according to the truth!. 66.245.85.18 18:08, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)

False.
False.
True, We could die out like the dinosaurs.

I've removed the following from the article "==Popular culture== The Earth becomes uninhabitable. Due to a lack of space travel, mankind becomes extinct. (Zager and Evans, In the Year 2525)". I've removed it because it implies that humans will certainly become extinct by the 10th millennium which is not the case. Hoof38 20:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Then if humans are extinct who's going to replace us? Iswatch19 07:19 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Probably a race of angry sausages

The Earth is sustainable if used properly. But the way things are heading, we probably won't reach the 6th century. This is because of both environmental destruction and the destruction of morality.

It's unlikely that anyone will observe the "astronomical events" predicted in the article...

  • Agreed, but I believe you mean 6th millennium. 72.184.119.126 (talk) 16:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

You lot sure are fatalistic. Go outside, breath in some fresh air. The world will still be here by then and I can pretty much bet we will be too. We've made it this far. There will still be astronomers by then, and they will be viewing it from Earth or another planet in our solar system or another or somewhere in the universe. Who knows what amazing technological advancements we will have by then. Stop being so fatalistic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.51.41.46 (talk) 01:08, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Pop culture

I've removed the pop culture section entirely. A full paragraph containing the plot summary of an episode of ATHF has no business here. I'm sure there this article could be filled with similar pop culture references. James A. Stewart 19:59, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Should the Y2K bug be mentioned here? 75.118.170.35 (talk) 19:27, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
