4 foot colossus torso of this guy found by Tell Ta'yinat Archaeological Project / Tell Ta'yinat Arkeoloji Projesi TAP in 2012, belongs on this Wikipedia page[edit]

As far as I know, this is a major work of Hittite Hieroglyphic-related iconography.

Susan Kennel Harrison according to Elif Denel "no legs, it is broken from elbows up, there seems to be a spear in one hand and a corn of wheat on the other, he's got bracelets with lion heads, two on each arm, the eyes are totally awesome, you get what you see, the inscription seems to start elsewhere on the body and continue on the back, but his name is definitely Suppiluliuma, most probably the same as that on the Arsuz stelae, which puts him in mid-9th c." "Our Number is Pure"[edit]

Although I'm having trouble finding a source to outright confirm this, the description of the Hittite army as "pure" in Suppiluliuma's letter to Ugarit most likely was figurative; indicating that the soldiers had been cleansed, i.e. completely wiped out. This would be a nice explanation to have, if someone can find anything to confirm it. Sources on this subject that are readily available in the public domain are hard to come by... I am Quibilia.
