First Entry on Discussion Page[edit]

Unfortunately this entry is related not to inculuding info but deleting wrong info
I am deleting the sentence "The majority of the residents of Çamlıhemşin are Muslim Hamshenis, an ethnic group of Armenian origin who speak a Turkish dialect Hemşince which was adopted under Turkic rule."
Reasons are:
1) Hemşince is the name of the languge spoken in some villages around Hopa…NOT Çamlıhemşin The given reference Vaux does not include ay word “Hemşince”…The article deals mainly with the language he calls “Homshetsma”. Hemşince is the turkish word for it as can be seen in other sources and has no relation to Çamlıhemşin
2) The “ethnicity” issue of Hemshinli has bee among others subject of discussion under article “Hemshinli Peoples” where user Meowy is taking a major part. Repeating the same here seems to me superflous. Basically the armenian descandancy is not proven and such allegations are disputed. Same goes for that Hemshinly are a “ethnic group”. Even the people who want to see armanian descandancy for hemshinli do not generally allege that Hemshinli of today are a “ethnic group”
3) Finally one should not go so far to consider a group of people to be a “ethnic group” and descandants of “xyz” if that group sees and understands and remembers itself as part of the mainstream (here Turks in Turkey) basing on a article of a linguist about a some other group of people..Cihsai (talk) 11:24, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
