Rumana Mahmood (Bengali: রুমানা মাহমুদ) is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament from Sirajganj-2.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Begum Rumana was born on 30 July 1951, to a Bengali Muslim family known as the Chowdhuries of Natore. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree.[2] She later married Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and moved to Sirajganj.

Career[edit]

Mahmood was elected to Parliament in 2008 from Sirajganj-2 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate.[2][3] She was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Commerce.[4]
